This was the best week of all...

I just loved to play with flickr. If you want to see how much, check our space to see the number of pictures I posted.

The other thing that motivated me this week is the certainty that my students will love to use this tool and the fact that I will be able to use one of the skills that most of my students complain about practicing in a very fun and creative away: Writing.

So, for me, this is a great opportunity to make them practice writing in a very effective way because I'm sure they will love it and will get involved.

So that's it.

See you :)

100-word reflection about RSS

Hello guys,

I missed coming here last week to post my impressions of blogging, but my blog was considered a spam blog, can you believe it?

(Sniff, sniff)

But I survived, and here I am to write about RSS.

First of all I want to say that I love my google account, as Mr. Ladir from Toma là da cá would say, my google account é mara! It was very easy to use Google reader, I just had to login using my beloved account...

Knowing what is new in our favorite websites with no need to visit them is something very useful, but here I have a question, can we do it with every webpages or just with the ones that have the RSS icon?

So what did I understand?

In my opinion RSS is a fast way of surfing the net, and it is also very easy, and as for our educational goals, we won't have the excuse that it takes time.

Ah, and with google reader, we can also share!

What else can I say about RSS?

RSS é mara!

Social bookmarking: Diigo

Last week was a very busy week for me, and I couldn't use everything that we have at diigo, but I took a look at it and loved. Online social bookmarking is great because we can share discoveries and also see other people's resources. This is very nice because sometimes we just don't have anything different and special to use with our studentes and we get motivated by friends' bookmarks, so this can also be considered a social activity, we have the oportunity to get together, online, at any place and time, to share... So this is wonderfull.

I still don't know how I can use it in the classroom, but as soon I discover something I'll let you know, I'll share.

Oh, my too much share im my writing, but sharing is never too much, is it?

Kisses :)

SINGELA FLÔR
Minha pátria é Sergipe, a flôr singela

Teaching in the 21st century

First of all I'd like to say that I loved the videos, they summarize most of my ideas about teaching in the 21st century.
I really think that we have to use their language to teach, and what is better than using computer, internet and even cellphones?
I really loved the idea of the cellphone.
In one answer I'll resume all Carla's questions about the videos.
I thimk I'm the main barrier to incorporate technology in my classroom. Yes, I am.
All my students have access to the internet and the school that I work provides us teachers and students computers, internet and wonderfull softwares to be used in the classroom, and the question is, Why don't I take advantage of all these things?
Maybe because of the way I was educated. Maybe because some teachers are still too resistant to the use of this kind of tools in the classroom and I tend to listen to them. Maybe because although I use it everyday I don't know how to use it in the classroom. The real reason I don't know, maybe all of them togethet, but I am blaming myself these days because I think it's the best way to get me motivated to change.

So, that's all for now!

Kisses :)
